Aim: “I Make My First App eTwinning Project introduce and use basic programming concepts using Code.org platform, but the emphasis is on building apps as a creative and expressive experience. The aim of the project is to get students excited about creating mobile apps, with the assumption that they will learn what programming and broader computer science concepts they need to know in order to build their apps.”

The project comprises of two parts. In this first part being finished, basic coding principles have been learned on Code.org platform and participants were certified. Students create programs with loops, events, and conditionals and write algorithms for everyday tasks. They will translate their names into binary, investigate different problem-solving techniques, and discuss societal impacts of computing. By the end of the course, students have created interactive games or stories with Play Lab at the end that they can share with their partner students. The courses are flexible so educators can tailor them to their class based on their students’ developmental level and prior experience. The participants have performed 11 Activities which comprise of Code.org- Course 2. The lessons align to CSTA Computer Science Standards , ISTE standards , and reinforce concepts and skills taught in other subject areas by integrating national Math , English Language Arts , and Science standards. The games created are exchanged on online platforms using skype, twinspace and facebook. The Code.org platform is designed to provide students with an engaging introduction to fundamental computing concepts and broaden participation in computer science, especially females. With this project partners have participated in Europe Code Week. In the second part of the project, they will cerate an app for their mobile by using MIT App Inventor and it is fun.
